The Phoenix Public Market Cafe

Architecture & Interior Design / Restaurant Concept Development / Object Design

The Phoenix Public Market Cafe was built around our belief that the combination of design and food culture play a vital role in the health and well being of our communities. Connected to the largest outdoor farmers’ market in Central Phoenix, the cafe is an extension of the market’s efforts to bring the local community together through food. The previously compartmentalized building was opened up to emulate the airy feel and space of the outdoor market, and the interiors designed to match the age and patina of the beautiful original brick building. A material palette of classic tile patterns, rustic wood and white marble was selected to compliment the existing industrial, vintage vibe, and each piece of custom furniture was designed and built specifically for the cafe’s environment. The elaborate floor plan was created to accommodate a large weekend volume as well as catering, events, retail and a robust pastry program. The natural flow between the market and cafe provides a true farm to table experience.
